Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Orencar ("we") is an independent software project — not yet an incorporated company — operating orencar.com. We collect as little personal data as possible, and nothing without a reason. This page explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, message, and your consent choices. Provided voluntarily by you.
- Analytics (only with your consent): anonymised usage data via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. If you decline, no analytics tools are loaded at all.
- Country detection: when you use the phone field, your approximate country (country level only) may be resolved from your IP address via Azure Maps or Cloudflare, solely to pre-select your dialing code. It is not stored.
- Security: Cloudflare processes IP addresses to protect the site from abuse, and Cloudflare Turnstile verifies that form submissions come from humans.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your message (legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- To send you occasional updates — only if you tick the marketing checkbox (consent, revocable at any time).
- To understand interest in Orencar through consented analytics (consent).
- To keep the site secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Where your data goes
Form submissions are delivered through Mailjet (EU-based email provider) and stored in our Mailjet account. The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the West Europe region and served through Cloudflare. Analytics data, when consented, is processed by Google and Microsoft. We never sell your data, and we never share it beyond these processors.
How long we keep it
Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request, at most 24 months. Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent. Analytics data: per the retention settings of GA4 (14 months) and Clarity.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your data, and withdraw any consent at any time. Use the contact form. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
